The House Hotel Resort, run by Elegant Hotels, is located in the St James area of Barbados, which in turn can be found on the west coast of the island (also known as the Platinum coast). It’s a small adults-only beach-side resort with just 34 suites making it private, intimate and romantic, ideal for a memorable honeymoon vacation.
St James is around 30 minutes drive away from the cosmopolitan capital of Barbados, Bridgetown, and is around 40 minutes drive away from Grantley Adams International Airport. This luxurious hotel even offers complimentary jet lag massages upon arrival!
With just 34 suites in the resort, you can be assured of a high quality, sophisticated touch to your stay at The House.
Two types of room are available: the junior suite as well as the one bedroom suite, each offering either a ocean view or garden / poolside view.
A large bed with Egyptian cotton linen, flat screen TV with DVD player and two separate bath/shower rooms can be found in the junior suite whilst the one bed suite offers a separate adjoining living room.
The rooms are tastefully decorated in a luxurious fashion, all offering a range of amenities you would expect in any hotel room: hair dryer, in-room safe, mini-bar, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, air con, cable TV and a telephone.
The resort offers just one restaurant – Daphnes – which serves modern Italian dishes. Despite the beach-front location of the resort, it is also close to other eateries so if you do not fancy Italian cuisine one night, you can easily find alternative dining locations.
As you would expect at a resort of this nature, the staff are very willing to help make your stay carefree and pleasurable. The resort offers a 24 hour ambassador service, for example, taking care of your every whim.
A fitness centre can be found at the resort whilst the beach and warm clear Caribbean waters are just a short walk away.
Complimentary water sports (including windsurfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, water skiing, tube rides and banana boats) are offered to guests at the sister hotel “Tamarind Cove”
A library is available to guests along with WiFi access to keep in touch with home.

A great hotel that focuses on quality and service. It’s a small hotel so you’ll probably find yourself going out and exploring the local area perhaps more so than other larger resorts. That said, you’ll certainly be looked after here and will find it relaxing, pleasant and memorable.
